decisions

the other day i went to eat out at a restaurant with my aunt. she was quite distraught while telling me that my other uncle’s husky (which i guess was at her house recently) went berserk and basically rushed her chicken coop and killed 3 chickens.

for context, she was telling me this while she was eating the plate of fowl she ordered.

it was a few days ago, so i don’t exactly remember everything 100%.

but i do remember that at the time i was deeply uncomfortable and almost too shocked to keep eating the delicious plate of pasta with mushrooms that i ordered.

like… how can you care that much about chickens that you own for eggs (which tbh, they probably lived a good life until the husky killed them) but not even think about what you’re eating this exact moment you’re telling the story about them AND you get that emotional?

like, as humans we legit don’t even think about the animals when we look at a dish made of meat. we don’t make the logical connection that the dish once used to be a living being. at least, i don’t think she does, at all.

being reminded that most humans are hypocrites like that really fucked me up that day.
