fear of missing out?

i think one of the worst feelings is failing at something and then realizing you could’ve done it all along. like it was literally available to you but you didnt have the foresight to even know it was that easy to do in the first place.

i work with computers & the internet a lot. fuck, all my sources of income have been trough computers. most of my life revolves around them.

and i mean, i feel like those feelings are even worse on the interwebs. because technically everything is just there. you just need to know where to go or know what to do.

anyways, the reason i think about that is that im working on learning how to avoid it. especially in a certain context. which is…

im a fairly scatterbrained and cant hold my attention for very long. this also affects how i manage projects or tasks in real life. sometimes i start doing something and its great because my brain is engaged; but as soon as it doesn’t feel 100% fun, i drop it. which absolutely sucks for things that are long-term or dont see short-term benefits or enjoyment.

but it has happened me plenty of times that some of those tasks or projects take literally 5, 10, or 15 minutes a day or something. because they’re something that has already started, the ball is rolling, and i might know what to do. basically a banal amount of effort is required for a pretty high yield/returns.

but still, i cant seem to be able to do that stuff. eeh, ill keep working on it.

tl;dr: not doing stuff cuz you don’t know how easy it is sucks. gotta do small things to make big things happen, i guess.

yeah, good point about schoolwork... and academic performance is another thing that's dependent on good habits - 1 hour of study each day for 4 days is better than 4 hours of study for 1 day, just because of how human memory builds.

also don't worry about getting distracted lmao, i always appreciate when you show up anyways :D
